Miles for Smiles: On Tuesday, we will have Miles for Smiles mobile unit at HMS. Parents have already preregistered for this service. Contact Mrs. Willcox for more information.
Our soccer game this week will be at HMS on Thursday. Boys play first and the girls will play immediately afterwards. Contact Coach Grimes, Coach Franklin, or Coach Addison for more information.
SRO Appreciation Day is Friday! HMS loves Deputy Hotard and thanks him for all he does to keep our school safe. Make sure you let Deputy Hotard know he is appreciated.
Valentine's Day - Students may wear a Valentine shirt (or Valentine colored shirt) with jeans that are blue in color, no holes, or rips for a $5 donation. The money will go towards Student PBIS. Sweatshirts are acceptable; hoodies are not acceptable. Students cannot bring large Valentine gifts to exchange at school. Preordered carnations will be delivered that afternoon.
Reminder: Please make sure your students' approved contact list is update in OnCourse. Students cannot checkout with someone that is not on their OnCourse. This process does have to be processed once you are finished so please don't wait to the last minute. Many will checkout the day of the Mardi Gras Ball. We will not accept notes for checkouts. OnCourse must be updated.
With our Mardi Gras Ball being right around the corner, we think it’s a good time to remind parents students can only checkout with contacts listed in Oncourse. Letters and phone calls will not be accepted.
Once you submit your request, we will get it approved as quickly as we can. Please note it takes time so don’t wait until the last minute. Thank you.

Basketball Games: We have a home game on Monday and an away game on Thursday. Do not forget our new rule that was effective last week regarding students needing an adult with them at the game. Due to the recent cold weather, Track tryouts are continuing during PE classes everyday and the coaches will still have the after school tryout Tuesday Jan. 28th until 4:30 for anyone that did not have the opportunity in PE.
April is the month of the military child. Bossier Schools, in partnership with the Bossier Parish Chamber of Commerce, are proud supporters of the many students we have whose families serve in our Armed Forces.
Please help us celebrate them during the month of April by purchasing a tshirt. Shirts may be worn for the entire month of April as a uniform shirt.

HMS will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Club pictures will be Wednesday. Student will wear their club shirt to school with their uniform bottoms. If your child is in multiple clubs, he/she may bring their other shirts in their backpacks. Spring League starts soon. Interested students need to see Mr. Braden during their lunch time. Students must be at least 12 years old. have good grades, and good behavior to participate. Deadline January 24.
