February is the shortest month of the year, but it has been packed with lots of learning! In February students have been researching famous African-Americans for Black History Month. We had student readers each day on Tiger News encouraging our student body to check out biographies to learn more about the lives and legacies of important figures. Tigers also cast their ballots for the Louisiana Young Readers' Choice Award, so be sure to check out our Library Lagniappe for our school-level results. We had many students join AR point Clubs in January and February. Remember, quarter 3 AR goals are due Wednesday, so this weekend is a great opportunity to reach those goals! Happy Reading!

Get ready, Curtis Elementary! It is time to start planning your out-of-this-world outfits for our Launch into Literacy Spirit Week, happening March 16–March 20! We can’t wait to see our students show off their stellar spirit as we celebrate the importance of reading.
